      <image:title>Blog - Taking time off - When you work part time, it’s easy to think non-work days are enough to rest and recharge but of course they’re not. I choose to work part time, so I can also teach yoga in the week, which means my non-work days aren’t really that. I am working, it’s just different work! Following the advice of a friend I’m now trying to refer to these days as non-office or non-contracted days to recognise both to myself and others that I still need to be mindful of the mental and emotional energy I’m expending.</image:title>

      <image:title>Blog - Getting my ducks (gulls) in a row - As I’m nearing the end of my teacher training course, I’m preparing all my coursework and assessments, all the paperwork I need and it feels very much like I’m trying to line up some very uncooperative gulls! Checking I’ve got the assignments, the evidence, the coversheets, all saved in the right place, with the right file names and then uploaded to the system is an exercise in patience and concentration. Maybe I can learn from my niece in calmly lining my ducks up at the end of the day.</image:title>

      <image:title>About  yoga - What is yoga?</image:title>
      <image:caption>Yoga originated in ancient India 6000 years ago and combines physical poses with breathwork and philosophy to unite the mind, body and spirit. In the West, yoga is increasingly practised to improve health and wellbeing, increasing strength and flexibility and decreasing stress. There is evidence that regular yoga practice can help people with high blood pressure and heart disease. It’s also been shown to help lower back pain and increase mobility. Studies have shown a decrease in depression and stress in people who practise yoga. Yoga can be enjoyed at any age, from childhood to older age. You just need to join a class suitable for your fitness level. Yoga will improve your flexibility and mobility and you may find your fitness improve and your range of movement increase, making daily activities easier.</image:caption>
